Thaisa (Thai) is registered psychologist and holds a Bachelor degree from the Pontifical University of Sao Paulo (PUC-SP) with international academic experience at the University of Porto, Portugal. She is also a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (MAAPi) and Australian Psychological Association (MAPS).
She has experience in implementing general treatment plans and assisting individuals with ongoing emotional, mental and behavioural challenges (such as Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder , Specific Phobias, Social Adjustment, Relationship challenges etc.) in order to promote healthy behaviour, working to improve the patient’s quality of life in a safe, non-judgemental and collaborative environment.
Thaisa has experience in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), with ADHD, in order to assist with the development of social skills and the promotion of general wellbeing. Her work has taken her into the classroom with onsite school observations, assessing children with ASD in their learning environment. Thaisa is also passionate about treating children with anxiety challenges and supporting parents in assisting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD.
Thaisa uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy that is a collaborative approach that facilitates the evaluation of client experiences. Clients learn skills and techniques by which they can practice and embed the desired changes and strategies. Thaisa values the client’s perspective and encourages active participation and input instead of a sole reliance on the direction or suggestions of the Psychologist.
Sessions are available in English and Portuguese.
